Dr Katherine Doolin, lecturer at Birmingham Law School,  is among the editors of (and contributors to) a new edited collection entitled Whose Criminal Justice? State or Community? published by Waterside Press in February 2011.

Other current law staff - Professor Andrew Sanders (Head of Birmingham Law School), Dr Adrian Hunt (lecturer) and Theresa Lynch (doctoral researcher and postgraduate teaching assistant) - are also among the contributors.

The volume is the first publication of the University of Birmingham Community and Criminal Justice Group (BCCJ Group). Drawing on the different disciplines of law, criminology, forensic psychology, social work and public management, the edited collection explores the shifts and progress made in criminal justice in England and Wales over the past two decades and highlights the possibilities and pitfalls under the current Coalition Government.
