Birmingham lecture Dr Alexander Orakhelashvili's latest book on international law, Collective Security, was published by Oxford in March 2011.

This major new work is the first comprehensive analysis of collective security, covering all relevant institutions including the UN, the League of Nations, and regional organizations. It focuses on how the relationships between various collective security institutions operate in practice. The book covers regional collective security institutions in Africa, Asia, and Europe that have been under-analysed in scholarship in this area.
