Dan graduated from Coventry University with an LLB (Hons) degree in 2011. During his LLB, he was awarded the Philip Townshend Criminal Law prize in recognition of his academic achievements. Subsequently, Dan went on to study at the University of Birmingham for a Master’s degree in Criminal Law. In 2012, he joined the Birmingham Law School as a PhD candidate under the supervision of Professor Robert Cryer and Dr. Stephen Smith. Dan is a Lecturer in Law at Coventry University.
Dan is currently working on his PhD thesis entitled, ‘A conceptual analysis of criminal causation’. His research focuses on the nature and role of causation in the criminal law, looking at whether moral responsibility, legal policy or common-sense notions underpin the common law doctrine.
