Beginners Basque language and culture

Description

This module’s teaching methodology is based on the communicative functions (which are purposes and aims meant to be achieved through language), when in communication with others. In the three weekly hours the teaching of the four language skills (writing, oral, reading and listening skills) will be integrated so that the students will be able to master certain communicative functions which have been set for the course.

Learning outcomes

By the end of the module the student should be able to:

 

  • employ basic Euskara (the language spoken in the Basque Country);
  • attain suitable proficiency in Euskara as to reach the 150 hour level indicated by the Basque Government.

Assessment

 

  • Oral exam: 20%
  • Coursework: 20%
  • 3 hour exam: 60%
