German Studies at Birmingham is large and long-established.

In the most recent Research Assessment Exercise (2008), it was ranked equal first in the country on the percentage (60%) of its research activity judged to be of international excellence (3*) or world leading (4*). German Studies is part of the Department of Modern Languages, and you will be taught and supervised by international scholars with a wide range of expertise.
