The Music Department's new live electroacoustic ensemble, BEER (Birmingham Ensemble for Electroacoustic Research), will give its first public performance as part of the Network Music Festival in Birmingham. They'll present two works, NotSoMASSRadioCoding (based on an earlier piece by Dan Stowell), and Telepathic, both of which make use of live coding (real time programming of computer music systems) and network music techniques (sharing data and code over a wireless network).
