Description
BEASTiary

  • Jonty Harrison director

Marking founder Jonty Harrison’s last event as Director of BEAST, BEASTiary takes its name from a work written by Jonty to celebrate the groups 30th anniversary in 2012. Featuring a wide range of electroacoustic music, both with and without live performers, played over BEAST’s world-famous 96-channel sound system, the weekend includes five
performances.

These concerts include a late-night event presented by BEER, a laptop performance in the foyer, as well as a newly commissioned work by PhD student Rosalyn Coull. She, thirteen other postgraduate composers, Scott Wilson and Jonty Harrison welcome guest composers Neal Farwell, Heather Frasch, Lucio Garau, Elainie Lillios, Michael Thompson and John Young, and performers Goska Isphording, Xenia Pestova (currently in Birmingham on a Research Fellowship), Carla Rees and Gregor Riddell for a two-day musical extravaganza.
