I received a job working for a building society straight after graduating which was greatly helped by my degree.  I have since applied for and started on a graduate teacher program at Warwick University.

What were the best things about the education that you received at Birmingham?

The support in the department and the whole atmosphere of the university.

How did your time at Birmingham influence your career path? Did it do so directly or indirectly?

Directly, as I will be becoming a Maths teacher.  I was also encouraged by various members of staff to pursue this line of work

Other than your qualification in your subject area, what other skills do you think your time at Birmingham developed?

Team working, organisation and determination.  All crucial in work life!

In what way did living and studying in Birmingham live up to your expectations?

I found the support in my subject to be excellent and just what I needed and expected.

What advice would you give to current students studying on your degree programme?

Ask for help whenever you need is as pretty much all of the lecturers were more than happy to help!

What are your memories of student social life?

Great fun and lots of wine and pancakes at the Selly Sausage!

What were your expectations of the City of Birmingham and how did your expectations of the City match your experience?

Wonderful shopping and a great buzz – just what I had expected as I already new the city pretty well.

Is there anything else you wish to add about your experience at the University of Birmingham and the city in general?

I don’t regret my choice of university one bit.  It was great.
