Following her visit to the University on a Nuffield School science project last summer, school student Beth Evans, of Bablake School in Coventry, is now one of two student ambassadors for science in the UK. Beth was presented with the E.On UK prize for Best and Most Advanced Use of Maths in the National Science and Engineering Competition at last week's Big Bang Science Fair at Birmingham's NEC.

The project that won Beth the prize was developed from the work she did with Professor Sergey Shpectorov in the University's School of Mathematics last summer on a Nuffield science bursary.
