Offer-holder Visit Days

Between October and March, the School of Mathematics runs a number of offer-holder visit days to which we invite applicants who have applied to us through UCAS, and who are residents in the United Kingdom.

We would like to invite all Mathematics offer holders to attend an Offer-holder Visit Day (OHVD) at the School of Mathematics. You are welcome to book a place at our OHVD by following the link in the email you received from us. If you are unsure of anything, please get in touch with us at maths@bham.ac.uk or phone  0121 414 7404.

OHVDs are designed to give you a much better feel for the School and whether this is the University choice for you. We believe coming to an OHVD is invaluable in helping you to come to an informed choice by meeting academic staff and current students, and seeing the University and department in action. We would strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.

A typical OHVD programme includes

  • Warm welcome with tea and coffee
  • 'How the mathematics programmes work?' - a presentation by the Head of School
  • 'Study and living in Birmingham' - a presentation by current students
  • Lunch with students and lecturers
  • Mathematics workshop
  • Student guided campus tour
  • Student guided halls of residence tour
  • Closing session with Admissions Tutor

The campus and accommodation tours are led by student ambassadors so you will have plenty of opportunity to talk about the School, the course and life in Birmingham from their point of view.

You are welcome to bring family with you. There is no dress code for OHVD and you should dress so that you feel comfortable.

We believe that OHVDs are an excellent way of helping you to choose which university you want to go to and we strongly encourage you to come if you are invited.
