Between October and April, the School of Mathematics runs a number of Applicant Visit Days (AVDs) to which we invite applicants who have applied to us through UCAS and who are residents in the UK.
We would like to invite all Mathematics offer hoders to attend an Applicant Visit Day (AVD) at the School of Mathematics. You are welcome to book a place at our AVD by following the link in the email you received from us. If you are unsure of anything, please get in touch with us at email@example.com or phone 0121 414 7404.
AVDs are designed to give you a much better feel for the School whether this is the University choice for you. We believe coming to an AVD is invaluable in helping you to come to an informed choice by meeting academic staff and current students and seeing the University and department in action. We would strongly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity.
A typical AVD programme includes:
- a talk about the School and course structure
- student presentation about life and studying maths at Birmingham
- maths workshop
- tour of the campus
- tour of the halls of residence
- lunch with current student and lecturers (free)
The campus and accommodation tours are led by student ambassadors so you will have plenty of opportunity to talk about the School, the course and life in Birmingham from their point of view.
You are welcome to bring family with you. However, as space is limited, for example on the accommodation tour transport, priority goes to applicants. There is no dress code for AVD and you should dress so that you feel comfortable.
We believe that AVDs are an excellent way of helping you to choose which university you want to go to and we strongly encourage you to come if you are invited.
