Located in the Medical School building, our team of academic and operational staff are on hand to offer support and advice whenever you need it.

Leading the way in research

As a College, we have top class facilities that encourage interaction between disciplines and research areas so you’ll be amongst like-minded people, giving you the stimulation, support and challenges you need to succeed.

MDS is the largest of the University’s five Colleges and, with over 900 researchers and around £60M new research funding per year, it represents a major international centre for biomedical research.

Our overall research objective is to develop and promote excellence in basic and clinical science with the goal of delivering improvements in human health.  We take pride in a truly translational pipeline, delivering cutting edge clinical trials and patient studies, underpinned by cell and molecular biology research on both model organisms and humans.
