Biography

Alexander Bevan qualified with a Beng (Hons) in metallurgy from the University of Birmingham in 2000 and went on to complete an Mphil and PhD from the University in 2002 and 2007 with the investigation in soft magnetic materials.

In 2007 Alexander Bevan completed the Protium project (http://www.hydrogen.bham.ac.uk/protium.shtml), officially launched on the 21st September 2007 it is the worlds first hydrogen powered canal boat, which serves as an interface demonstrating the various technologies and current research activities in the field of energy storage and usage of hydrogen.

In 2010 Alexander Bevan completed an interdisciplinary research project called SCRATCH (Supply Chain Research Applied To Clean Hydrogen) funded by EPSRC and AWM involving the further development of hydrogen storage materials and the interaction with a range of local SME’s
