Summer Term Activity/Challenge Days for AS Physics Students In 'Activities' Association for Science Education Conference 2016 Back to 'Outreach and Schools Liaison' The School of Physics & Astronomy has organised popular Activities/Challenge Days for AS students in Midland Schools and colleges. Over 300 students from 43 different school have enjoyed the event. Activities include: A talk on a current area of research A problem solving/discussion team activity – "What happens next?" – where students are invited to use their knowledge of physics principles to decide what happens next in various scenarios Workshops/talks with current postgraduate students 3 or 4 "hands-on" challenges, where teams compete for points which add up to prizes!
