Residential Summer School for AS Physics Students

Successful and popular residential Summer Schools have taken place in the School of Physics and Astronomy since July 2004. They are designed to give AS students studying Physics and Mathematics a taste of lectures, problem solving classes and laboratory work at University, as well as giving them experience of an overnight stay and a chance to visit Birmingham city centre.

All documents are in PDF format and will open in a new window.

For 2016, we will unfortunately not be able to use the student accommodation (Halls of Residence) for the overnight stay because our university students will still be using it.  A suitable, local alternaitve will be found.

Please see our Calendar of Events, appearing on our front page for the dates of the Summer School 2016.  A similar programmes posted above for 2015, will be followed.

When dates are released, students are advised to;

1.  to pay online (with the approval of their parent/guardian) and record the booking reference number.

2.  Complete the application form including the booking reference number.

3.  Post or send via email the signed application from to Linda Rogers.  Her postal address is Room S17, School of Physics & Astronomy, University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B45 9TS.

For our residential Physics Summer School, we do not accept bookings from schools.  Bookings must be completed by students themselves, with the approval of their parent/guardian.

If you wish to visit the Campus later this year, our Open Day dates are listed here.
