Title of PhD: Children’s decision making under uncertainty

Supervisor: Dr Sarah Beck

My primary research interest is in children’s handling of uncertainty, specifically children’s decision making when faced with ambiguity.

BSc first class (Hons) in Psychology

Mres in Psychology

I have a first class honors degree (BSc) in Psychology from the University of Birmingham and an Mres in Psychology also from the University of Birmingham.

After graduating I worked as a research assistant for a year on several projects investigating children’s counterfactual thinking and children’s understanding of uncertainty. I was also involved in work developing new reading initiatives for use in primary schools and a longitudinal project investigating children’s early reading skills.

I am currently conducting behavioural studies in schools in addition to using eye-tracking technology to investigate children’s decision making under uncertainty and their ability to understand contradictions, with funding from the ESRC.

Children’s cognitive and language development.
