PhD Supervisor: Dr Brandon Stewart
My PhD topic concerns improving intergroup relations and civic engagement by drawing upon the psychological understanding of socio-political factors in attitude construction. This work uses quantitative methods and combines insights from areas including: political psychology, moral psychology, motivated social cognition and the social psychology of intergroup relations. This research ultimately aims to improve intergroup relations through an understanding of how these different domains impact upon perceptions of social policies and explicit/implicit intergroup attitudes.
