About
Title of PhD: Computational Study of Learning Process of the Knowledge Network contents In Selective Visual Attention
Supervisor: Dr Dietmar Heinke
I am interested in both the philosophical and cognitive aspects of consciousness. I am going to study Visual Attention by mixing Information Theory and Learning Problem together. I will focus upon selective attention process to find out more about the patterns our brains obey to carry out obligations. I strongly believe that studying visual attention might lead us to overcome some of the obstacles we have encountered while studying consciousness.
Qualifications
BSc in Mathematics (Isfahan University and Shahid Beheshti University)
Biography
I have a BSc in Mathematics that I hold from Isfahan University and Shahid Beheshti University respectively. During my degree I worked on Diffusion Processes and Brownian Motion specifically in Image Processing. I also took some courses in philosophy of science and since then I have been fascinated by philosophical aspects of cognitive science. So I started studying Artificial Intelligence in addition Information Theory through which I developed some basic ideas about consciousness, and how a hypothesis can be set up based upon scientifc methods. I also started to study some specific concepts like ''creativity'' and ''emotion'' which are going to be considered quite differently from the way they used to be.
Beside my scientific activities I am very keen on music theory and for the past few years I have been trying to do an interdisciplinary research program in which cognitive neuroscience and music theory join together. I did a project in Persian Music and Information Processing which was offered by Goldsmith College of Music, University of London in 2011. Currently I am collaborating with Dr Marcus Pearce from Queen Mary University of London on cognitive neuroscience of music perception.
