Geraldine is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and currently works part-time in the NHS, where she leads a Skills Development Service, and part-time at the University of Birmingham, where she directs CBT Programmes. She is an accredited therapist, trainer and supervisor with the BABCP, and a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with the BPS.

Biography

Geraldine has worked as a Clinical Psychologist for 25 years, and specialised in CBT when she realised how helpful the approach was for clients who were referred to Adult Mental Health Psychology Services within her Trust. She completed the Oxford Diploma in Cognitive Therapy in 1999, and between 2006 and 2008 completed the Oxford Diploma in Advanced Cognitive Therapy Studies. She has been Director of CBT Programmes at Birmingham since 2008, and has taught CBT on many postgraduate courses over the past 15 years. She has also taught CBA and CBT to a variety of mental health professionals over the years within her role in the NHS.

Teaching

Geraldine has been Director of CBT Programmes at Birmingham since 2008, which involves teaching on all of the postgraduate CBT courses. She has also taught CBA and CBT to a variety of mental health professionals over the years within her role in the NHS.

Other activities

Geraldine is very interested in quality assurance in teaching practice. She has held External Examiner roles for postgraduate CBT Diplomas in several universities, and she was formerly a member of the BABCP Course Accreditation Panel.

Geraldine also has an interest in staff engagement and wellbeing, and sits on an organizational development group within her NHS role. This interest in staff wellbeing has led to her currently studying for an ILM level 7 qualification in Executive Coaching.
