The aim of these workshops is to support the transition from personal practice to teaching the 8 week MBCT programme.
The workshops examine the core elements of the MBCT curriculum. They cover the aims and intentions of each of the meditation practices and the CBT exercises. Participants will have the opportunity to develop skills in delivering the meditation practices and in subsequent enquiry, in pairs & in small groups and in delivering the CBT component of the curriculum. Facilitators and peers will provide ongoing feedback. Teaching will be experiential and didactic.
These workshops are suitable for Mental Health professionals with a core professional training and experience of offering therapy, especially in groups. We would also require people to have had some experience using CBT. Applicants will be expected to have completed a 5 Day Experiential course, or equivalent, and to have established a personal mindfulness meditation practice.
Following this Course, participants could then expect to go on to start teaching MBCT courses with a more experienced MBCT Teacher and under supervision in accordance with UK Mindfulness Based Teacher Trainer Network, Good Practice Guidance for Teachers.
