Three new permanent positions in Philosophy available

Posted on Friday 21st December 2012

The Philosophy department is advertising three new permanent positions. Two of these positions are open positions and so we welcome people with any areas of specialisation to apply for these positions. They are also open rank vacancies ranging from lecturers and senior lectures to readers and Chairs depending on the person's experience.  You can find more information about these open positions from the further particulars. The third position we are advertising is a permanent lecturership in ethics.

The new appointments are expected to contribute to all aspects of teaching, research, and administration excellence at our department. We will also expect them to take part in the development of our rapidly growing department and to work toward enhancing our global reputation.

Prospective candidates are welcome to contact our Head of Department, Dr Iain Law (I.Law@bham.ac.uk). The deadline for applications is on the 11th of January, 2013. The applicants should complete the on-line application (Open Posts and Lecturer in Ethics) and include a covering letter and full Curriculum Vitae. In the covering letter, you should address what level of appointment you wish to be considered for, what experience you have to date, and what your appointment would bring to the Department of Philosophy.

Our website offers more information about our growing department, our current members of staff and their research, and our undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
