I came from Hertford and the first thing I noticed about the University of Birmingham, compared to my other university choices, was the campus. That is: how green and well kept the campus is. Given the size of the university in terms of the number of students, it is laid out very effectively and therefore had a much more welcoming feel than other campus
I also chose Birmingham because I am from a small county town and the thought of living in a huge city was crucial. Indeed it was daunting at first, but equally exciting. Further, there is constantly so much going on that I am extremely happy I chose to study here.
My course is exactly what I was looking for in that the staff are all exceedingly friendly. This is probably the best thing about studying here, that I feel like I know every member personally. The city itself could not be more diverse, having something offer to all. Another bonus of the university is its own train station offering quick access to the city and surrounding areas.
