The Midlands Polish Community Association is proud to present 'In War and Peace': Collected Memories of Birmingham's Poles, an exhibition which tells the life stories and also celebrates the contribution of the Polish community in Birmingham since the Second World War.
This exhibition tells the stories of a number of the Poles who arrived and settled in Birmingham in the early post-war years, often after much suffering in the horrendous deportations to Siberia. Some came as adults, some as children, but all had to construct a new life in England when peace came.
The exhibition will feature digital presentations, taken from interviews with individuals, and will include photos, documents and objects from their lives.
The 'Collected Memories of Birmingham's Poles' project is supported by a Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) grant.
