Studying social policy in the UK

Posted on Thursday 10th November 2011

International postgraduate students joining the Policy into Practice MA programme and Social Policy MA programme enjoyed an intensive four week introduction to studying Social Policy in the UK.

The introductory programme began with a 'What do you know about the UK?' quiz, visits to the Newtown area of Birmingham and the Black Country Museum. The four week programme also included one of their assessed modules, Sectors and Services in British Social Policy as well as tasters of other modules to come later in the programme.

The students were entertained to 'tea' by the Lord Mayor of Birmingham and enjoyed a balti with IASS staff. On the final day there was a 'bring and share' international lunch with delicious Korean and Chinese food.
