IASS academic, Tarsem Singh Cooner, has won a Birmingham University Teaching Fellowship award. Tarsem is planning to use his award to access training to create mobile phone apps (applications) for education, and to undertake research to explore the potential of this medium for educational development opportunities.

Tarsem is a Lecturer in Social Work within the School of Social Policy. The University of Birmingham has been providing social work education since 1908 and recently celebrated 100 years of social work education.
