On 24 October 2012, Steve Vertovec gave a public leacture on Diversification and 'diversity': configurations, representations and encounters as part of the College of Social Science Distinguished Speaker series.
Using a wide range of visual material, Steve showed how the world had moved from diversity to superdiversity in the past two decades and argued that while configurations and encounters had evolved in light of superdiversity, representations of diversity had yet to keep pace with the changes.

He also did a seminar for Doctoral Researchers attended by over 30 doctoral research students from across the University, arranged by the IASS DR Event Organising Committee, and a Workshop on Research Agendas in Superdiversity with the IRiS workstream leaders.
