Evaluation of Shelter's 'Keys to the Future' Children's Services (2007-2011)

privateaccommodationAn independent longitudinal evaluation for Shelter England and Shelter Scotland, commissioned from the Institute of Applied Social Studies, University of Birmingham, to run alongside the Shelter Children's Services programme, providing both formative research over the period of delivery and summative research of key learning points and outcomes.

It will be examining the impact their new Children's Services initiative (Keys to the Future) is having on preventing homelessness amongst children and families and reducing the negative effects for children (in terms of health and education) of living in temporary or inadequate housing.

An initial report was submitted to Shelter in October 2007 - Under the Radar.

Outcomes

In February 2012, the final evaluation report and executive summary were published.
