Joy joined the School of Social Policy as the Service User and Carer Co-ordinator within the Social Work Programmes in October 2007.
Biography
Prior to joining the Institute of Applied Social Studies, Joy worked as a visiting lecturer and casual researcher within the University whilst undertaking her PhD, which is currently in the writing up period. Joy had also previously worked in Third Sector Management for ten years.

Disability Issues, Voluntary Sector, Service Users and Carers: representation and identity. Joy's PhD (ESRC and DCLG funded) explores how people who have recently become impaired negotiate governance structures to access services and support.
