What does the future hold for the NHS?
HSMC holds an annual Health Policy lecture for key friends and supporters of HSMC. In previous years this has been a traditional lecture for a specially invited audience. Guests delivering this lecture in previous years have included Sir David Nicholson and Jeremy Taylor.

This year, HSMC hosted the European Health Management Association (EHMA) Conference which was attended by over 200 people over a 3 day period. The Health Policy Lecture formed an integral part of this conference in the form of a public event with open access to all who wanted to attend. It was run not as a lecture, but as a 'Question Time' style event with four panellists addressing the key question "What does the future hold for the NHS?"
Panellists were David Behan, Chief Executive of the Care Quality Commission; Lord Victor Adebowale, Chief Executive of Turning Point; Michele Paduano, BBC Regional Health Correspondent; and Jacqui Smith, Chair of University Hospitals Birmingham.
