HSMC's Dr Iestyn Williams, currently in the US on sabbatical, was recently invited to act as an expert reviewer for the Agency for Health Care Research and Quality (AHRQ) - part of the US Department of Health and Human Services.

The panel of reviewers met in Washington DC earlier in May to score contract proposals for a new 'Citizens' Forum' funded by the Obama government's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).  The goal of this initiative is to develop mechanisms to engage citizens and stakeholders in processes that use comparative effectiveness evidence for making decisions concerning healthcare policy and practice.
