Congratulations to recent graduates and University Alumna of the Year
Park House recently played host to a post-graduation reception for successful HSMC students. Graduates included home and international MSc students from the department's Health Policy and Management and Leading Health Services Improvement degree programmes, and trainees from the NHS Graduate Management Training Scheme (GMTS).
HSMC's award for best overall student went to Elaine Bayliss, Clinical Lead for IT Business Delivery at Birmingham East and North Primary Care Trust, who graduated with Distinction.
Alumna of the Year - Sarah-Jane Marsh
A previous GMTS student at HSMC was also awarded with the University's Alumna of the Year award at another recent ceremony. Sarah-Jane Marsh, Chief Executive of Birmingham Children's Hospital (BCH), graduated with an MSc in Health Care Management in 2005. Sarah-Jane has worked at BCH for the last three years, two of which have been as Chief Executive. When appointed, she was the youngest Chief Executive in the history of the NHS.
You can listen to Sarah-Jane talking about her experiences at the University of Birmingham, as well as what it is like to live and work in the City of Birmingham in this University of Birmingham video.
