The department’s status as the leading national experts on integration was cemented recently when it was invited to the inaugural meeting of the NHS Future Forum’s Phase 2 panel. HSMC’s Professor Jon Glasby was one of only four external experts to present to the panel during a day which saw discussions covering each of the Forum’s four work streams – Education and Training, Public Health, Information and Integration.
Set up as an independent group to ‘pause, listen and reflect’ on the Health and Social Care Bill, the NHS Future Forum is comprised of clinicians, patient representatives, voluntary sector representatives and others from the health field, including frontline staff. Following the Forum’s 16 key recommendations to Government, Phase 2 is now concerned with considering the detailed implications of the Bill in the four areas described above.
