Health Secretary visits HSMC clinical fellows

Posted on Friday 23rd March 2012

HSMC, in partnership with University of Manchester and the Kings Fund, have been commissioned to provide a Postgraduate Certificate in Leadership and Service Improvement for a new cohort of 60 clinical leadership fellows from November 2011. The fellows will also be responsible for designing and implementing a service transformation project in their work place. This will be built on the principles of the Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention (QIPP) programme.

Module 1 was a four day successful residential workshop in January 2012 for all fellows, thus ensuring that the first educational element is developed as a national programme with a national cohort. Speakers included Professor David Colin-Thome and Professor Chris Ham as well as a presentation by Andrew Lansley, Secretary of State and Sir David Nicholson, CEO NHS.
