HSMC, with colleagues from the wider School and University, had a strong presence at the recent meeting of the International Research Society for Public Management, in Prague.
Iestyn Williams, Martin Powell and Robin Miller were organisers of a panel of papers on the theme of ‘Understanding and Remaking ‘Publicness’ in the 21st Century’. In this session Catherine Needham co-presented a paper entitled ‘Public health versus personalised medicine: state responses to non-vaccination’. In a separate panel session HSMC’s Yvonne Sawbridge (with Alistair Hewison from the School of Health and Population Sciences) presented a paper on ‘Emotional Labour-can nurses be equipped to cope with pressure and change?’
