Biography

Prior to joining the TSRC Rebecca worked as a research fellow at the Policy Studies Institute where she was involved in a wide range of research on work and employment with a particular focus on labour market disadvantage and the experiences of older workers and ethnic minorities. Recent projects explored the experiences of social housing tenants in relation to employment ad debt, recurrent poverty and cycling between work and benefits, employers perspectives on employing older workers.

Rebecca also worked on the ESRC funded qualitative longitudinal study of young peoples transitions to adulthood ‘inventing adulthoods’ at London Southbank University. Her PHD was a critical exploration of the concept of work and voluntary work and involved depth life and work history interviews with paid and unpaid workers in two voluntary sector organisations.
