The School of Social Policy gives students the opportunity to travel to London with members of the teaching team to visit the Houses of Parliament, the home of the British Government.
The Houses of Parliament is the supreme legislative body in the UK. It has power over all other political bodies in the UK. The tour will include visits to both the House of Commons and also the House of Lords with the aim of providing undergraduate Social Work and Social Policy students with a better understanding of the democratic processes that result in the creation and implementation of new laws; laws that provide the framework for social work practice and the social policies in place today.
Listen to what one of our Social Policy students thought about the trip to the Houses of Parliament (below).
