This event is takes place twice during Friday 9 November 2012 at 2-4pm and 6-8pm

Location: School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, University of Birmingham

Part of the ESRC’s Festival of Social Science this is a free event examining the development of sporting performance

At the London 2012 Olympics we saw the application of the very latest knowledge in the physical and life sciences to elite sporting achievement, or more simply the end product of a lifetime in sport. Yet how do people get into sport? What influences their development? Just how lucky are these elite sports people? This is an exciting event for all those who are interested in the real influences on elite sporting development - are elite performers simply lucky?

Registration for the event is free but essential; please click here to register through the university’s online shop.
