Dr Nikos Ntoumanis was this year's recipient of the University Award for Excellence in Doctoral Supervision, sponsored by the University Graduate School. The award identifies individuals across the University who have demonstrated a high level of commitment and enthusiasm in the supervision of doctoral researchers and who act as role models within their Colleges, promoting discussion and sharing good practice.
Dr Ntoumanis (pronounced "Doumanis") is interested in personal and contextual factors that optimise motivation and promote performance, psychological well-being and health-conducive behaviours in various physical activity settings (exercise, sport, physical education). His work is supported by funding from national and international research councils and charities and has received awards from various academic organisations.
