This is a consortium of clinicians and researchers from the Midlands Universities who are undertaking research into Alzheimer's Disease.

- Dr Raymond Reynolds, Lecturer in Motor Control at the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences, has become a cover star on the latest edition of The Journal of Physiology following the publication of his new paper on Vertical torque responses to vestibular stimulation in standing humans.The cover image is taken from an illustration in Dr Reynolds' article where the colours represent the amplitude of vestibular-evoked torque responses in standing subjects, demonstrating modulation by head orientation.

- Dr Anna Phillips was recently awarded the British Psychological Society Division of Health Psychology Award 2011 for Outstanding Contributions to research, a prestigious award judged across all career levels including professor. This is Dr Phillips' third prestigious research award in two years, following on from two international early career awards in 2010.

The key developments include a new sports centre and a new library, to join the new Music building currently nearing completion.

- Staff from the School of Sport and Exercise Sciences have been awarded a £7,000 grant, from the Higher Education Academy, to evaluate the transfer of skills developed in outdoor settings into academia and employment. Dr Jennifer Cumming and Dr Vikki Burns will be examining the development of team work skills at the Raymond Priestley Centre, the University-owned outdoor pursuits centre in the Lake District.
