PhD Title: The relationship between anxiety, gaze direction and walking behavior in older adults at a high-risk and low-risk of falling

Supervisor: Dr. Mark Hollands

Benjy Curzon-Jones currently works in the Kinesiology Lab under the supervision of Dr. Mark Hollands. His research focuses on elucidating the possible maladaptive walking behaviors that we might develop up as we age, specifically those behaviors relating to gaze direction throughout the gait cycle.

Biography

Benjy Curzon-Jones completed his Sport & Exercise Sciences BSc degree at the University of Birmingham in 2010. While completing his degree he worked at the Guild of Students as a Senior Venues Assistant and helped to organize events such as the Vale Fireworks. He completed his dissertation under the supervision of Dr. Mark Hollands, and is now looking at the relationship of gaze behavior and stepping performance in older adults.

Gait, Aging, Frailty, Saccadic Eye Movements, Motor Control, Trait Anxiety, Salivary α-amylase.
