PhD Title: Chemosensitivity alterations in ageing

Supervisor: Dr George Balanos and Dr Shahrad Taheri

Keith’s current area of research is investigating the changes in the control of breathing with age and how this could cause the development of sleep disordered breathing in older individuals.

Furthermore, Keith is investigating the effects of sleep restriction and disruption on cardiorespiratory control and functional capacity.

Biography

Keith gained his undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Sciences in 2010 from University of Birmingham. Following this he continued on to begin his PhD within the same department, advancing on research he completed during his undergraduate degree.
