Transport Services Apprentice

36 hours per week - 12 months fixed term contract

Starting salary £12,352 per annum - Closing date  - Sunday 20th August 2017

There is a genuine occupational requirement for this post holder to have held a driving licence for 2 years.

Joing our Transport services team and start your career in customer services or fleet management at the University of Birmingham.

This is a unique apprenticeship opportunity, focusing on delivering excellent customer service and supporting our transport services team to the Universities fleet of transport.

The postholder will be expected to work as part of the Post, Portering and Transport Services Department, and will learn to support in the general day to day duties within transport services which includes a fleet in excess of 100 vehicles. The apprentice will be expected to learn to perform a variety of driving to include; minibuses, chauffeuring duties, cares and other commercial vehicles.

Apprentice Mechanical Workshop Technician

36 hours per week - 2 year fixed term contract

Starting salary £12,352 per annum - Closing date Sunday 20th August 2017

If you are looking to kick start a Mechanical technician career at a leading University then this is the apprenticeship for you.

We are one of the largest Physics departments in the country with a high profile for research both in the UK and internationally, covering a wide range of topics offering exciting challenges at the leading edge of physics and astronomy.

The apprentice technician will work and learn in any of the college's centrally managed workshops (currently based in Physics, Engineering South and Engineering North). The mian function of the college workshops is the design and contrsuction of specialised equipment for use in research and teaching. They will learn to perform supprt duties and be trained in a range of mechancial workshop skills, under the day to day supervision of experienced technical staff as designated by the workshop manager. They will attend college (day or block release) and follow a pre-determined programme of formal training.

Apprentice Barista

36 hours per week

Starting salary of £12,352 per annum

Start your Barista and hospitality career at the University of Birmingham.

The apprentice Barista will be initially based at one of the University’s Costa Coffee Shops Outlets. The apprentice will learn how to assist, Team Leaders, Supervisors, Assistant Manager and Manager in all areas of store operations. This includes maintaining the Costa experience for customers by providing a prompt service, quality beverages and products and maintaining a clean and comfortable store environment.

To have a successful apprenticeship in hospitality you will be punctual, flexible willing to go the extra mile and keen to learn all the aspects of the daily operations of Costa and how to run a successful shift.
