The University of Birmingham is holding a apprenticeships fair on Friday 3 June to showcase a range of opportunities which have become available since it launched recruitment for an apprenticeship scheme earlier this month.

The opportunities include roles in:

  • Administration;
  • Hospitality;
  • Electrical and Mechanical Engineering;
  • Childcare;
  • Studio and Postproduction;
  • IT;
  • Retail.

The Apprenticeship Scheme open day will take place between 10am and 2pm on the first floor of the Bramall Music Building at the University of Birmingham. It will provide prospective apprentices the opportunity to meet with line managers, ask questions and gain advice on their application.

Apprentices will be given on-the-job training in a range of fields and the University has partnered with Babington Apprenticeships Ltd to recruit and train them. Apprentices will begin work in September.

The University of Birmingham is one of the largest employers in the city and currently has around 7,000 members of staff, spanning a range of academic, professional, technical, manual and clerical roles.
