The Workplace Wellbeing team has a role to play in many aspects of of our staff members’ working life, from the quality and safety of their physical environment, to how they feel about their work. The aim is to make sure that staff are safe, healthy, and engaged at work.
Workplace Wellbeing is further divided into the Health and Safety Unit; Occupational Health; Employee Advice and Support Services; and Sustainability and Environment.
The Health and Safety Unit deals with the physical environment and provides advice on fire safety, radiation protection, chemical hazards and more.
The Occupational Health team support individual employees and the University by assessing the impact of work on health and the ability of individuals with health problems to undertake their role within the University safely and effectively, advising on adjustments that may assist them.
Employee Advice and Support Services offers confidential help, support and advice to all employees, including a mediation service, harassment advisers, and the Citizens' Advice Bureau.
The Sustainability and Environment Advisor supports the University’s commitment to good environmental practice and sustainability and in particular the implementation of the University’s Sustainability Strategy and Environmental Policy.
