About

Lisa Trickett has been appointed to the role of Director of Civic Engagement at the Birmingham Business School.  Until recently she was the Project Director for the national ‘Leadership of Place’ combined research and knowledge transfer programme which was delivered in collaboration with the UK Homes and Communities Agency. Building upon longstanding experience in local government and a period as a senior consultant with PwC, Lisa has also led the development of a range of tailor-made knowledge transfer programmes for NGO’s, regional bodies, local authorities and professional bodies.

Knowledge Transfer and Research Activity

  • University Executive Team lead and Steering Group member of Be Birmingham Social Inclusion Commission, chaired by the Bishop of Birmingham (2012 - ).
  • Principal Interrogator and Programme Director on a combined research and knowledge transfer programme for the Homes and Communities Agency on Leadership of Place (www.birmingham.ac.uk/schools/business/research/research-projects/leadership-of-place.aspx) (2008 – 2011)
  • Adviser to a research and knowledge transfer programme for the Homes and Communities Agency on Collective Memory of Place 
  • Principal Interrogator on a consultancy project for Advantage West Midlands reviewing investment strategies and the potential for integrated working in the region 
  • Policy advisor to research programme for the Korean Government looking at lessons to be learnt from Urban Regeneration in the UK 
  • Principal partner in the design and delivery of a seminar series for BURA to develop capacity within strategic housing authorities – commissioned to design and deliver a series of regional workshops to consider the impact of the credit crunch and how collaborative practices can evolve to create certainty 
  • Design and delivery of a series of tailor-made leadership programmes for NGOs, GON, local authorities 
  • Designer and Co-Director of a foundation course in Economic Development 
  • Founding member of the Centre for Leadership and Co-Convenor of the 2009 international Leadership Conference - www.club.bham.ac.uk
  • Practitioner and KT support to HE14 Project on Closure 
  • Co-investigator on LSIC funded research into the FE sector and place shaping
