Chris Gower is Senior Lecturer/MSc IPM Course Leader.
Chris has more than 40 years of industrial experience, which includes plant and facility engineering management and industrial project management.
Chris has managed projects in the UK, mainland Europe, and overseas and has specific experience with projects management related to consumer healthcare facilities and product manufacture.
Chris Gower was awarded an HNC in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, following study at Lowestoft College in 1972.
He joined GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and was later appointed a member of the Project Management Standard (PM Standard) Team which developed and delivered the Project Management Standard, a standardized approach for managing capital projects. Chris was a member of the team which then developed project management training material and delivered regional and local training to >400 Project Managers.
Chris went on to lead the capital project management process for 19 GSK consumer healthcare product manufacturing facilities in international locations.
He later led the GSK programme for the MSc in Industrial Project Management launch, in collaboration with the School of Chemical Engineering at the University of Birmingham, and working with School tutors and GSK project managers to develop course materials and module sessions formats.
