Biography

After acquiring his undergraduate dental degree at the University of Birmingham in 2013 with distinction & honour points, Satnam completed his foundation training at a family practise in the Mersey Deanery. It was here that he developed an interest in Restorative Dentistry and embarked upon a Dental Core Training (DCT) pathway to gain further insight into the field. He completed 2 Restorative DCT years at the Leeds Dental Institute and Cardiff Dental Hospital alongside an Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery DCT year at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham all the while working in general practise part time on the weekends.

He gained significant clinical and academic experience and accumulated additional qualifications, publications, presentations and highly recognised awards throughout this period. This led to his appointment to a full time Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Specialty Registrar in Restorative Dentistry at the University of Birmingham in 2017.

He is currently undertaking a PhD, involved in the teaching of undergraduates and treating patients requiring specialist Restorative care and in the future hopes to become a Senior Clinical Lecturer and Honorary Restorative Consultant.

In his spare time Satnam enjoys keeping fit, spending time with family and friends and kickboxing. During his final year of undergraduate study, he won the English Kickboxing Championship and the Good Citizens Award from the West Midlands Police Service.
