Richard Standage is a Registered General Nurse and a Registered Children’s Nurse and teaches on the Bachelor of Nursing degree. His main contributions are to the undergraduate Child Field of Practice modules. He is Link Tutor to Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Birmingham Heartlands Hospital.

Biography

Richard Standage came into nursing in his mid-twenties, qualifying as Registered General Nurse in 1995. On qualifying he immediately specialised in Children’s nursing, and converted to a Registered Children’s Nurse in 1998.

His clinical experience is mainly based in Paediatric Intensive Care where he worked for over ten years. He also has experience of paediatric medicine and pre-operative assessment.

Richard came into higher education at the University of Birmingham in 2007. He maintains close links and clinical practice with Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
