Dr. Rui Albuquerque is currently an Academic Clinical Lecturer in Oral Medicine. He has successfully achieved a Master's degree in Oral Medicine and obtained a PhD (Hons) in 2012. He is currently undertaking specialist training in the same field.

Dr. Rui Albuquerque qualified in dentistry at the Instituto Superior de Ciencias da Saude do Sul, Portugal in 2006 and then went on to undertake his MS in Oral Medicine and PhD (Hons) at the University of Barcelona, Spain.
He worked as a General Dental Practitioner (GDP) with a special interest in Oral Medicine in Portugal. In the United Kingdom, he has worked as a GDP in Eastbourne, as a Dental Officer in the Special Care Department in Brighton and Dartford/Lordswood and as Staff Grade in Oral Medicine at King’s College London. In 2013 he commenced the specialist training/ Academic Clinical Lecturer role in Oral Medicine.
Dr Albuquerque also continues to play an active role in academia: he has joined a collaborative research of patients with Sjogren’s Syndrome and Vasculitis and participated in the development of an e-learning website (http://www.oralcancerldv.org/en/)
