Joanne Cliffe is Programme Leader for the following: Post Graduate Diploma in Physical Education (QTS) for Secondary Education, PGDip Teaching Studies and MA Teaching Studies. Joanne’s previous experience in higher education included contributions to the PGCE Physical Education course at Loughborough University. Her background is in teaching in secondary education and her posts have included, Head of Physical Education, Head of Sixth Form, Co-ordinator for BTEC / GNVQ Advanced Diplomas, LEA Vocational Advisor. Her research interests lie in Physical Education, educational leadership, emotions and emotional intelligence.

Teaching

Responsible for planning and teaching the PGDipEd (QTS) Secondary Physical Education course. In addition, has responsibility for PGDip Teaching Studies and MA Teaching Studies.

Joanne is currently working on the analysis of data from a research project.

An Investigation of women's leadership preparation within the senior leadership team, co-investigated with Drs Kay Fuller, University of Nottingham and Pontso Moorosi, University of Warwick is a cross case analysis of women and men's experience of leadership preparation in schools situated in six local authorities. The project was funded by BELMAS.
